Kilroy Community Guidelines

Kilroy is a shared, persistent sky, a place to tag the world with something meaningful. For it to stay that way, we ask everyone to follow these rules. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.

We remove content that contains

• Hate symbols, slurs, or content targeting people based on race, religion, sex, sexuality, gender identity, disability, or national origin.
• Sexual content, especially anything involving minors.
• Harassment, doxxing, or threats aimed at specific people.
• Graphic violence or gore.
• Content that promotes self-harm.
• Spam, impersonation, or content that misleads other users.

Reports and moderation

Any user can report a mural via the 🚩 icon in the app. Reported work is hidden immediately behind a neutral gray placeholder while a human reviews the report. If the content violates these guidelines it is permanently removed; if it doesn't, it is restored. Reports are reviewed promptly, and a report that isn't upheld is automatically dismissed within 7 days, so no one's art stays hidden without a decision.

You can also block specific painters from your view. Their work is hidden from you on your device.

Kilroy paints too

Some skies carry the Kilroy mark itself: the peeking face, always the same, put up by us rather than by another painter. It is the app's own tag, the way a stencil repeats. Everything else you see was painted by a person.

Bans

Painters who repeatedly post violating content will be banned from posting. Bans can be appealed by emailing us.
